Using play, transmedia storytelling and improvisational theater techniques, our workshops develop group dynamics. We offer a professional development experience that fosters a culture of innovation, collaboration, and creative problem solving. Based on the idea that together we are smarter, our workshops incorporate methodologies from Playback theater, Design Thinking, and participatory culture to create transmedia experiences that are built by and for you.
Experiencing Transmedia is a hands-on, collaborative workshop in which participants will be guided through an interdisciplinary approach to building connected experiences. In this fast paced workshop participants will use collaborative storytelling techniques including performance, participatory culture, and mixed media to explore the intersection of creating and experiencing. You will leave the workshop with a firmer grasp on the potential of transmedia and how to use it to tell your message! Coming on July 6th at IFP Media center.
Through improvisation and participatory activities - workshop participants will use theater, and collaborative storytelling techniques, to work from personal experiences towards articulating shared values. The issues that we are facing today as a society are complex and multifaceted. As situations change, and new challenges arise – our values change as well. For this reason dialogue and discovery between people with different agendas is a critical component to finding solutions that are in everyone’s interest! Come play and learn to effectively produce change within your organization!
What does narrative mean in today’s changing media landscape? What does creativity look like when it stems from play, discussion and collaboration? How can people from various backgrounds personally and professionally cross-pollinate and fuel each other in the creative process? Participants will be guided through theater exercises, ideation activities and narrative challenges as they collectively create multimedia storytelling experiences, which cross disciplines and platforms.
